The Juniors and Senior enrolled in Metal Shop had a blast on the field trip to MaiCo Industries in Ellsworth. They learned about large scale pole construction as well as Submerged Arc Welding. They also had a chance to assist the employees on a 2000 ton break press that makes Power poles. By the end of the tour they made their way back to the Sub-arc welder and had Everest Alba (Central) and Mario Serreno (South) run the machine and weld a bridge brace for a reconstruction of a bridge on I-135.

The concourse is a great place for students to utilize when needing to study or complete a group project.
