Lego Activity Fosters Collaboration And Teamwork

Students in Ms. Mahler’s junior English class at Central High School started the school year with an engaging hands-on activity, thanks to support from a Salina Education Foundation (SEF) Sudden Opportunity Grant.

“My students kicked off the year by using Legos to build group models that brought creativity, teamwork and connection to life,” Mahler said. “It was a really fun day and everyone enjoyed it.”

The activity provided an opportunity for students to work in small groups, encouraging collaboration, communication and problem-solving skills. Beginning the year with a team-based project helped students build connections with one another, set a positive tone for the rest of the school year and foster a stronger sense of community.

Thank you to SEF for providing support and resources that enhance opportunities for students and staff at Salina Public Schools.
