Students of the Week

November 30- December 4
Chase YoungChase Young is a senior at Salina Central High School. He participates in school activities by being the team captain of the bowling team and a member of the choir. Outside of school, Chase participates in Meals on Wheels where he delivers meals to elderly people who cannot leave their homes. Chase says the best part about school is that everyone takes the time and effort into helping the students to graduate. After graduating from high school, Chase plans on attending Barton Community College then transferring to WSU to study business. In his spare time, Chase loves dirt racing and enjoys going on  Friday nights to watch some dirt fly.

November 23-27
Janae MontoyaJanae Montoya is a freshman at Salina Central High School. She participates in school activities by being on the varsity tennis team and she is also a Central High twirler. Outside of school, she participates in the Trinity United Methodist youth group and is a member of the Shannon's Stars Twirling club. Janae says the best part about school is getting to learn new subjects and experiences. After graduating from high school, she plans on attending college but is undecided where at this time. In her spare time, Janae likes to golf, skateboard, swim, bike, draw and paddle boarding. She also enjoys animals and has four cats and one dog.

Jacob RayJacob Ray is a sophomore at Salina Central High School. Jacob says he likes his art class at Central High. Outside of school, he loves helping his family. Jacob says the best part about school are his friends and his teachers. In his spare time, Jacob loves to play video games and read.

Annzia HowardAnnzia Howard is a junior at Salina Central High School. She participates in school activities by being a member of the jazz band, concert band and the trombone section leader. Annzia says she loves the music department at Central High and she likes the way the teachers push her to do her best. After graduating from high school, Annzia plans on attending KU.

MaGali GarciaMaGali Garcia is a senior at Salina Central High School. She participates in school activities by being a member of the art club. Outside of school, MaGali is an assistant coach on her dad's soccer team and she also owns a small business called "Maggie's Crafts". MaGali's favorite subject at Central is culinary and her favorite teachers are Ms. Eades and Mr. Morris. After graduating from high school, she would like to attend Salina Hays Academy for cosmetology and eventually open her own salon. In her spare time, MaGali enjoys listening to music and writing. McGali says she has two younger brothers.
