Week 13
Imani De La Cruz Bonane
Imani is a freshman at Central High School. She enjoys orchestra class because it provides a fun and engaging environment. Alongside participating in the orchestra, Imani is also a member of the tennis team and the French club. Outside of school, Imani spends her time crocheting and playing in the Youth Symphony as well as the District Orchestra. After high school, she plans to pursue a career in either law or aviation. A fun fact about Imani is that she has a pet dog and a betta fish.
Week 12
JD Kathrineberg
JD is a sophomore at Central High School. At school, JD loves making new friends, and his favorite class is drafting. He is a member of the orchestra, the Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA), the Dungeons and Dragons Club (D&D Club), and math relay. Outside of school, JD takes private violin lessons, participates in the Salina Youth Symphony and enjoys playing video games in his free time. JD wants to pursue a career path that includes math, coding or video game design. A fun fact about JD is that he has a dog named Lucy.
Week 11
Olivia Murphy
Olivia is a junior at Central High School. At school, she looks forward to Mr. Alvarado’s ELO class. Olivia is a member of the soccer team, Student Council, National Honor Society and LINK. Outside of school, Olivia enjoys spending quality time with her friends. After high school, she plans to pursue a career in nursing. Fun facts about Olivia include her love for K-State and that she has two dogs.
Week 10
Nathalia Franco
Nathalia is a senior at Central High School. She enjoys participating in choir and helping people through her work as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Home Health Aide (HHA) outside of school. Nathalia plans to pursue nursing after graduation. A fun fact about Nathalia is that she has been involved with choir since the fourth grade
Week 9
Kevia Pennyfeather
Kevia is a freshman at Central High School. Kevia enjoys learning new things daily, her favorite classes are drafting with Mr. Hair, and Orchestra with Mrs. Modin. At school, Kevia is a member of the track team and in orchestra. Outside of school, Kevia is a member of the Salina Youth Symphony, the KWU Orchestra and takes private lessons. After graduation, Kevia plans to attend Howard University and study architecture. Some fun facts about Kevia are that she is from an island called Antigua and Barbuda and moved to the United States five years ago, she is an only child and has three pets; a great dane, a miniature poodle and a cat.
Week 8
Ashlyn Calhoun
Ashlyn is a sophomore at Central High School. Ashlyn plays volleyball and is involved with FFA. She loves FFA with Miss Elder because she likes being a part of something that teaches people new things and gives them a community. Her future plans include attending Kansas State University after graduation and studying pediatric nursing or elementary education. A fun fact about Ashlyn is that her favorite color is purple.
Week 7
Victoria Shuler
Victoria is a junior at Central High School. Victoria enjoys algebra and sociology classes because of Mr. Hall and Mr. Rose’s teaching. Their methods make understanding and remembering material clear and effortless. After graduation, Victoria plans on entering the workforce and exploring new opportunities. Some fun facts about Victoria are that she is interested in mechanical puzzles, likes to play pool and has one dog and one cat, Lily and Eclipse.
Week 6
Avery Adkins
Avery is a senior at Central High School. His favorite subject is his culinary class, and he is a member of the gaming club. Outside of school Avery enjoys spending time with his family and playing video games. Avery’s plans after graduation include attending college and pursuing entrepreneurship. A fun fact about Avery is that he has five cats and one dog.
Week 5
Lauren Tomson
Lauren is a freshman at Central High School. Lauren's favorite classes are into to public service careers and English. At school she is involved in book club, and outside of school she likes to read, paint and hike in her free time. Lauren's future plans include attending college after high school.
Week 4
Grace Ostmeyer
Grace is a sophomore at Central High School. Grace enjoys English and history because she excels in these subjects, she also values interacting with her peers at school. Grace is a member of the girls’ basketball team, volleyball team, softball team and FCA. Outside of school Grace plays club basketball and volleyball and spends her free time reading and listening to music. After high school, Grace plans to continue her education and attend college. A fun fact about Grace is that she is the oldest of three children in her family; she has one brother and one sister.
Week 3
Mykah Trusty
Mykah is a senior at Central High School. Mykah enjoys seeing her classmates and her position as a Pylon photo editor. Besides being involved with the Pylon, she is a member of the softball team, a wrestling manager, on the student council and in the choir. Outside of school, she stays busy working as a server during the school year and at a pool during the summers. After high school, Mykah plans on attending college and studying criminology and journalism. Some fun facts about Mykah are that she has 2 dogs and 1 cat, loves taking sports pictures and enjoys eating queso.
Week 2
Oscar Perez
Oscar is a junior at Central High School. He is on the baseball team, a member of the student council and involved with link leaders. Oscar looks forward to showing his school spirit at the football games by participating as a maroon in the student section. Outside of school Oscar plays baseball, spends time with his two brothers and his dog and attends church. Oscar’s future plans involve attending college and continuing playing baseball.
Week 1
Parker Graves
Parker is a junior at Central High School. He is involved with FCA, is a member of the Link Crew and on the Baseball team. Parker’s favorite class is Mr. Rose’s history class as he enjoys all of the group activities they do. Outside of school Parker loves to golf, play baseball and participate in his church group. After Graduation Parker plans to attend Kansas State University and study Business.
